Dennis Wade

Here’s a sample of Dennis in action at a Critical Thinking class. In this clip, Dennis has just finished collecting types of documents that participants frequently write or evaluate. He now begins to lead the participants through The Thinking Map, which is a critical thinking tool that is especially suited for evaluating the validity of reasoning and conclusions in written documents. In this six-minute clip, you’ll see Dennis’ lively lecture style, an exercise, and an interactive debrief. This is a typical example of how we approach onsite training and the kind of video you’ll see in our online training.

Tyler Wade

Here’s a sample of Tyler in action at a Critical Thinking class. In this clip, Tyler helps participants to understand the nature and elements of arguments, which are the foundation of critical thinking. He also dispels some misunderstandings about arguments in several humorous examples. In this five-minute clip, you’ll see Tyler’s lively and interactive lecture style. This is a typical example of how we approach onsite training and the kind of video you’ll see in our online training.

Dennis Wade on Conflict Management

Here's Dennis simulating a conflict management technique called "The 3-F Method." When the issue becomes conflictive/emotional, the facilitator can use this method to move upset employees from the emotional state to the rational state. In the video, you will see Dennis move his staff from being upset about ineffective/wasteful meetings to a more rational outlook by moving through three Fs:
  • Facts - What are the objective facts? What happened? What's wrong?
  • Feelings - What are the feelings? What feelings are being expressed? (Just observe and possibly acknowledge, if appropriate.)
  • Future - What do we do in the future? What are some possible remedies or prescriptions?
Thanks to Sacramento State University for supplying irritated meeting members (actors), the conference room, and the videographer.
